Hotel Dilemma Bally's v. South Point

We%26#39;ll be in LV 9/26-10/1. Got a great rate at Bally%26#39;s with 2 nights comped for a total of $152.00 for all 5 nights. We%26#39;ve never stayed at South Point, although we have played and eaten there a few times. Got a good rate for South Point, but it%26#39;s still over twice as much. We always rent a car, so South Point distance isn%26#39;t an issue. Hmmmm. What to do? Advice anyone?

I don%26#39;t know how bad you want to try out a different hotel. If you%26#39;re on a budget, that $152 for 5 nights at Ballys sounds great. If paying $150-170 more doesn%26#39;t really bother you then go for SP. SP is very nice, definitely a step-up from Ballys! I%26#39;d be hard-pressed to pass on that Ballys rate, considering that I go-off strip to save money on hotels, not to spend more!

I concur with Yam. Why spend more money to go off strip for 5 nights? I can only last 2 nights maximum off strip.

South Point is not off strip, just has a crap location on the strip, why would you pay extra to stay at South point even with a car when Bally%26#39;s is center strip. Bally%26#39;s might not be the brightest bulb in LV but it does have location.

South Point is not worth twice as much.

As much as I enjoy South Point...I totally agree with Dice Man.

Stayed at both and love them both.

I would stay at Bally%26#39;s for the location.

South Point has nicer rooms, but not worth the extra money.

Just because something is on LVB doesn%26#39;t mean its on the strip. Considering how far south it is and that it was built to be a locals casino, I don%26#39;t know how you could consider South Point to be on the strip.

Thanks, Folks..

I appreciate your advice. I have a hard time passing up that great deal at Bally%26#39;s, but we%26#39;ve had our eye on South Point since it was still a Coast property. We usually stay at Orleans since we don%26#39;t play much on the strip due to lousy VP pay tables almost everywhere, but we do like to spend time there.

By the way, since we%26#39;re talking Bally%26#39;s, is there a road north of LV Blvd. where we can turn off Flamingo into their parking garage? I know they share a garage with Paris that can be accessed from a road behind the hotels, but what about Bally%26#39;s own garage?

Also, do the desk clerks usually honor requests for the North Tower or are we stuck in the South Tower as it states on our reservation?

As you can see, I%26#39;m leaning toward Bally%26#39;s. :)

Southpoint is superior.

hey....how about splitting your time between the two places. I like both Ballys and SP....and would do Ballys comped plus a day, then SP at 49. per night.

SP is full of kids. You eat there?

Ballys has larger,tho older rooms.

Ballys , easy.
