Question about booking rooms in Vegas

I am still trying to decide whether I will book a package (air and hotel) with my air miles, or just book the flight part with airmiles and pay for the hotel myself. If I do decide to book the hotel myself, should I do it now? I am planning a trip from Dec 25-28 and want to stay at the Signature. Right now I am getting rates of $150 for Dec 25, and $300 each for Dec 26 and 27 (it%26#39;s the weekend). Do you think those prices will go either up or down significantly before then? And if they change, will the hotel change the rate for me if I booked direct with them? I see the sig lets you cancel up to 48 hrs, so I guess if need be I could always cancel the reservation and make a new one if the price drops right? Thanks!

yes book now directly through the hotel. if the rates change you can call the hotel and have them give you the new rate or you can cancel and rebook at either the same hotel or another hotel. but booking now guarantees you that the current rate will be the highest price you will pay.

oh, but if you book using a promo code, make sure to read all of the fine print because some hotels are getting sneaky and are putting in non-refundable clauses.
