How much money to take?

A hard question to answer Im sure. It will be our first time to vegas and we would like to play in the casinos. We will have to weigh this up with us saving to do trips, shows, nice meals etc. Do you think if we aim to save £300 each purely for the casinos that will be enough for us to have a little play each night (staying for 6 nights). Reading on the forums I was panicking a little at $25 minimum bets for the blackjack tables. Hey maybe our first night we will hit the jackpot. hahaha I bet thats how everyone thinks.

Any ideas or estimates of what other people have taken would be great.

Thanks

I think it all really depends on what type of gambler you are. If you can really stick to the budget you should be fine. Last time I was in Vegas I only used $100 to gamble for 4 days and I did fine. I won some and lost some to spread it out. My boyfriend spent I think $400 over the same period of time. He is more of a gambler then me though...

There is plenty of tables you can find if you look around that are $5 or $10 minimum bets. Just look around for them. Depending on the time of day I think they change the minimum bets too.

This thread is on page 3 and has a few answers that might help but basically says that it%26#39;s hard for someone to objectively answer your question, lol.

At current exchage rates 300 pounds = $540 which is about $90/day each to gamble with....suffice it to say that that might last you an hour at best unless you get lucky early short of going to low roller slots.

No need to play $25 minimums, you can find lower than that but even at $5 minimum $90 isn%26#39;t much but would have you there for a while unless you double down, split etc and lose a couple of times. You%26#39;ll be able to play slots for a while or enter a poker tournament or something though which will last longer.

I took $100 for only gambling per day and it wasn%26#39;t very much but it really depends on how long you want to play, how much you play at a time, and how lucky you are. I only played at tables with $5 minimums for Texas Holdem and roulette. (Excalibur and Downtown had $5 minimums, most the other places didn%26#39;t last year).

The correct answer is....

ALL OF IT

one thing you might want to consider is ';pooling'; your funds and sharing wins/losses if you are coming with a group.

I would suggest rather than 5 people playing $10 a hand blackjack on a 6/5 table it would be better to each throw in $5 for one person to play at the $25 table with 3/2.

or play $1 vp instead of .25---at wynn the $1 is 9/6 while .25 is 8/5.

might be fun for comradarie too having your fortunes riding together....you won%26#39;t make as much individually if you get lucky, but you won%26#39;t lose as much either.

on take what you are willing to loose!

Packing for a Las Vegas vacation is easy....

Just lay out all the clothes you think you will need.

Then lay out all the money you think you will need.

Then take half the clothes...and twice the money!!!
