Finally Booked Air Couple of ??? though

Hi,

I finally got my airfare booked and will be going to Tahoe as part of my trip to CA.

Will be in Tahoe 3 nights week of 9/29.

Thinking of staying at the Hyatt in Incline for (2) nights and then possibly Sunnyside or Paradice Motel down South. What do you think?

I realize they are close to each other but thought that we could be within walking distance to everything down south so we don%26#39;t have to worry about driving back at night after having a few cocktails!! We will be on vacation... Ha.

Will be coming from San Fran/Napa area any suggestion on the route?

What should I pack, is it chilly during the day at this time? I realize at night it will be.

Can%26#39;t wait to relax by the lake and possibly kayak...

Finally Booked Air Couple of ??? though

I tried to get the Hyatt %26amp; sunnyside at the end of Sept and I couldn%26#39;t as they were booked, maybe you%26#39;ll be luckier.

Sunnyside is very near Tahoe City so no where near south lake tahoe. If you want to be north and south, then pick Hyatt and Para dice.

It%26#39;s not chillyin the day. Jeans and a t should be good and a sweathshirt at night.

SF to South LAke Tahoe: Take 80 east, it becomes 50 in West Sacramento. No need to do anything stay on the freeway to take 50 to South Lake Tahoe.

SF to North Lake Tahoe: 80 east. In West Sac take the Reno exit to 80 east. 80 to 89 at Truckee or 80 to 267/ exit 188B to Kings Beach, turn left at the lake to Incline Village.

Finally Booked Air Couple of ??? though

Last time I stayed in Incline Village, I stayed at the Parkside Inn at Incline and had a great time! It’s close to the Hyatt (which we’ve also stayed in) and close to great activities. I really liked the private beach access we got, over all it was really relaxing. Whenever we go to Lake Tahoe though, we go to www.gotahoenorth.com and get a lot of great information there. From lodging/dining/specials, it’s always got great advice!

Many people come here for great information about Tahoe. Lots of contributors have first hand experiences that they are willing to share the pros and cons of and aren%26#39;t associated with a for-profit web site.

So would you suggest that we stay (1) night in South Tahoe, just to get the feel of the (2) area%26#39;s?

They have rooms available at the Hyatt starting at $179 a night for your Sept. 29th date of arrival for 3 nights. I would book it asap.

I probably wouldn%26#39;t move hotels for one night. Incline Village is beautiful. There is a nice casino at the Hyatt, too. We drive to SLT from the Hyatt a couple times each visit, and it%26#39;s only 25 minutes away. Even if you have a few cocktails over the course of an evening, don%26#39;t get in the car and drive back immediately. There is a Hard Rock Cafe or a Starbucks to get a snack. Just be smart.

Hi,

I just saw that! Thanks... Seems like a great rate.

Did you enjoy your stay at the Hyatt? Was there other options nearby for dinner beside eating at the Hyatt? The Lone Eagle looks very nice, especially the view.

hmmmm, 25 minutes isn%26#39;t bad at all....

Oh yes, lots of dining options just across the street from the Hyatt, on Country Club Dr. in the village. We%26#39;ve been stay at the Hyatt property for years and tried them all.

Austins

Black Bear Deli

China Wok

Tomaato%26#39;s

La Fondue

Le Bistro

Lone Eagle $$$$ has a beautiful lake view if you dine at sunset, and up the hill a mile, also with a view: Big Water Grill

The drive is really pretty. We leave in the afternoon and wander around the casinos, maybe see a move in the Horizon, have dinner at one of the hotel restaurants, or off site.

Wah!!!! Why can%26#39;t I get that rate for the nights I want? Boo hoo!

I%26#39;d stay in one place.

Also Garwoods in Carnelian Bay is right on the lake and has a great menu, good food and drink and good service.

Thanks for the dining suggestions, really appreciate it.

The Lone Eagle at the Hyatt looks nice, especially the view, I took a peek at the menu... just a bit over the top, (like NYC dining) but maybe it could be our big splurge night, hey its my birthday, why not... Ha.

Suze, seems like the Hyatts rate change daily. I had called because they had a fall promo going on and then the next day poof it was gone, they said that the specials and room rates do change constantly, maybe you%26#39;ll get lucky... keep the faith and keep checkin.

So stay in one place.. The Secrets Inn looks cute and they have a 99.00 rate for one night... Could be our bargain night!!! LOL

Still have to book somewhere heading back to San Fran. We want to stop in Wine Country (no clue where and possibly point reyes SP). So we were thinking of staying about an hour to an hour 1/2 outside od San Fran in Marin Cty or Wine Country and then hop on our flight back... Any suggestions?

Wine Country will be hard to get this time of year at this date. I%26#39;d try asking the members in those forums for help. I always wait to long for a Sept stay and we end up in our always great backup- Tahoe! ;)
