I was reading that you have to do ';wind sprints'; when you leave to get back to a safer area. I was searching downtown casino maps and half of them don%26#39;t even put it on there map.
I have also heard that it%26#39;s a great place with low cost gambling.
Whats your thoughts on this place?
Is the Western casino as bad as I people say?
If you are from NY, you will laugh at those who call it unsafe.

I survived. And I%26#39;m not a very good sprinter. I even dawdled and strolled along. :)
It is a great place for low limit gambling.
The blackjack tables have good rules.
Some people may feel creeped out there.
It certainly isn%26#39;t the place to go if you need to be surrounded by opulence.
I%26#39;ve heard some folks freak out when they get in an environment where people stop coddling them.
Like Vince Young for example.
If you tip the CW a couple bucks , she will almost sit in your lap.
Sadly, the Westerns big overhead sign was burned out totally last trip.
A true adventure awaits anyone who makes the walk from downtown to this dingy, smoky, ultra-cheap casino. This is where old nickels go to die, and bums go to watch.

I%26#39;ve been there once or twice. It is cheap but not much fun. Kind of a sad depressing place but I hear they are fixing it up.
It is not that bad.

I felt perfectly safe walking with Lucky Cuss.
Tony,
In your other post you mention that you want to go to Atomic Liquor.
After leaving the Atomic you will pass the Western. Stop in and check it out for yourself.
A block or two further toward the Fremont Street experience you will pass the El Cortez, also worth stopping in to see.
I am not sure how I would feel about this stroll late at night, but I did not feel unsafe early in the evening.
Thanks everyone, would love to hear from others.
