The details are a little hazy. but I will give it my best shot.
Left last Sunday morning and had a great flight. Was worried about the weather forecast but we got to Vegas ahead of schedule. Took a taxi to IP. With the fuel surcharge the fare was $16 plus tip. Checked in and got our room in 10 minutes. The trip was starting great! Was scared of how the room would be after reading what some people wrote about it. I opened the door looked around and was very happy. It was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was a bit small but spotless. I was satisfied!
Since this trip was with my brother, all we planned on doing was to play poker. We signed up for the 12noon tournament at IP. It was great and I split the first and second place prize money with another player. $280 each. Back to room to rest and clean up from our 5 hour flight. Then we went to Hooters for some wings. I love chicken wings! After dinner we checked out the new electronic poker pit at Excalibur. Is was ok for the novelty of it Glad I tried it once, but will not be back.
The rest of the week we played in tournament and poker games in many casinos. If you have any poker related questions just ask. I will be glad to answer.
Some of the other places we ate breakfast were: Victorian Room at Bill%26#39;s. I never miss this place when in Vegas. They have the world%26#39;s greatest pancakes. Garden Cafe at Flamingo. This place was very over priced. The food was so so and came to $36 for 2. TI and Harrah%26#39;s breakfast Buffets were good and reasonably priced. Around $14 each.
Diner we ate at Hooters as previously mentioned. We also ate at California Kitchen at Mirage. I liked it a lot! It was not the Italian food I am use to getting home in the NY area, but it was very good. 2 dinners and 2 appetizers cost about $65. We ate at BLT Burger at Mirage. The burgers and fries were good but very expensive. $46 dollars for 2.
After playing poker all day and late into the night I needed to wind down with some drinks. I spent a lot of time in Margaritaville at Flamingo. I love this bar. Very festive atmosphere. You can drink in bar of walk out onto patio for people watching. If you need a late night snack you can order appetizers. I also drank at the bar in Bill%26#39;s which was pretty good. Another thing I had a good time with late night was the Dealer Trainers at IP. Never thought I would enjoy this, but I lover it! Does get expensive if you don%26#39;t win a few hands of blackjack while drinking and playing there.
I guess writing trip reports isn%26#39;t one of my strong points. I am better at answering specific questions. So if you have any fire away.
Trip Report
Thanks for taking the time to share your trip with us. Sounds like you did exactly what you wanted!
Trip Report
Well Ken, glad to see you had a nice time :-). What did you think of the rain on Monday? Unreal wasn%26#39;t it? Next time try the dogs over at Bill%26#39;s they are cheap and yet very filling.
Sounds like my kind of Vegas trip. Poker, food and drinks. What more can a guy ask for?? Well women but my wife would have other ideas...... Great trip report.
Sounds like you guys had a great time and got in a lot of poker. We%26#39;re going Sept.28th-Oct 2nd, staying at the Flamingo. Glad you had a good flight out, I know the airports around here are awful. We%26#39;re praying for good weather for our trip out there.
I think you had the perfect trip, as db said poker and drinks but let%26#39;s not forget those Hooters wings.
I did have the hot dogs at Bills. They are great!
Did you see Bob at Bill%26#39;s Bar?

Excalibur poker questions
I%26#39;ll be playing poker for the first time on my next trip. I am only going to play low limit hold em or tournaments. Should I waste my time at the new electronic games or would it mess up a beginnner to start with the elec games? Does that make sense?

As of last week Excalibur did not have tournaments. Just cash games. If I were you I would try IP for low limit tournaments. They have $60 ones with soft competition.
You can go to www.allvegaspoker.com for a complete list of tournaments and good reviews of all poker rooms.
Hi! Do you play hole em?
My fiancee and I are going to Vegas 20-23 Oct. I am surprising him for his birthday. He loves to play hol em.
Where is your favoriet place to play? Do you have any advice I can tell him?
Thanks!
