Walking from greyhound station to Fremont St, safe?

First timer question; is it safe to walk with luggage from greyhound station (Mainstreet) to Fremont Street hotel, distance about 0,4 miles (less than 700 meters). The bus will arrive around 9pm.

I have walked all over the place downtown. I have never had a problem. You will be safe in my opinion.

Walk quickly towards Fremont. I was down at the bus station at 3PM in the afternoon and it was a bit unsavory.

I would not send my wife down there alone at 9PM. There were a lot of street wise characters down there that might offer to assist you with your luggage. Don%26#39;t trust anyone down there and don%26#39;t believe any of their sob stories. Act tough. These people are not good Americans.

Wait, am I thinking of the wrong bus station again? The station out by city hall is what I%26#39;m thinking of.

The Finnish guy was asking about the bus station on Main Street. Thst%26#39;s next to the Plaza Hotel and a very short walk to Fremont. The only unsavory character he may run into is Reno. Ignore her.

If you feel uncomfortable when you get there you can simply cross the street from the Greyhound station and walk into the Plaza hotel casino.

Walk thru the Plaza to the other side and you will be on Fremont Street. There is no need to walk outside the block from the bus station to Fremont.

Once you reach Fremont Street you will be under the magic canopy where there are many people, security and one casino after another until you reach the Fremont.

Thank you so much, quess this Plaza option suites for us. The question came out after reading virtualtourist pages and warnings about gangs hanging around and teasing people. Quess our bus from Flagstaff arrives to Main Street even it is not mentioned on ticket.

Yes, the Greyhound station is definitely on Main Street. I believe the other station mentioned in the posts is the downtown transit center for local busses.
