Blackjack at Harrahs

I just read a review that said that they ONLY have 6/5 blackjack at HArrah%26#39;s now. I find that hard to believe. I was there last Aug (2007) and 3/2 Blackjack was everywhere but the single deck games.

Can anyone either confirm or rebuff this claim?

Please share your insights!

Can%26#39;t confirm this or otherwise but it wouldn%26#39;t surprise me. Blackjack rules at HET properties are generally horrible for the player.

I can%26#39;t rebuff but does it matter since there are 1000 other casinos?

Harrah%26#39;s has 6 and 8 deck shoe games that are not all 6/5. They now even have a s17 game! It%26#39;s usually only $100 bet limit. Such a deal. Gamble elsewhere.

There are a few eight-deck shoe games that pay 3:2 on blackjacks at Harrah%26#39;s...but there are shoe games that pay 6:5 throughout the casino floor, too. You just have to be careful when you sit down (ask if it%26#39;s 3/2 first). Most of us blackjack players hate Total Rewards casinos in Vegas because the rules are so poor. A couple of free nights often doesn%26#39;t make up for the big losses from playing terrible games. If you must play at a Harrah%26#39;s owned casino, I suggest Paris or Bally%26#39;s where late surrender is offered on ';shoe'; games.

When I was there in July, we walked through Harrahs and straight out the door. All we could find was 6/5 blackjack. There was one 3/2 table with easily 15 people standing around it. I don%26#39;t know what the minimum was...I think $25....

Ok folks --- I appreciate your candid responses.

Being that we%26#39;re staying at HArrah%26#39;s, where nearby is a good place to play BJ?

Also, are the rules that different at the other Harrah%26#39;s properties?

All Harrah%26#39;s properties have lousy blackjack games. Go to the Mirage.

It%26#39;s all about the minimums. Higher minimums at Harrah%26#39;s will still have decent rules. 3:2 on an 8 deck shoe, double down after split, late surrender is pretty common if you are playing $50 minimums.

If you%26#39;re looking for better rules on a $10-25 minimum, check out Venetian and Palazzo, Mirage and TI. You%26#39;ll find decent rules as IP and O%26#39;Shea%26#39;s, but they are pretty crowded and getting a bit run down. Also tend to be real smokey

I must correct MGG. IP has one game (@$25) worth playing. O%26#39;Shea%26#39;s 3 games are all horrible. All are 6/5. Over a 1.00 house advantage and terrible insults to real blackjack. TI and Mirage have good options and Monte Carlo has a $10 game with s17, rsa, and late surrender. As good as it gets on the strip. 1/4 the house edge at O%26#39;Sheas. For $10 too.
