Planet Hollywood - need tips and suggestion

For those of you who have stayed or are familiar with the PH I would appreciate any tips and suggestions you have. Here is what I have gleaned from reading other posts and reviews about this hotel:

1.General review of the casino is that drinks are hard to come by when gambling

2. Ask for the upgraded rooms—some are the old Alladin rooms

3. This is a timeshare resort and they are aggressive, say “no, thank you” and walk on

4.Shops at Miracle Mile adjoin the hotel and the ABC store has reasonably priced liquor. There are also cheaper restaurant options here

5. I read that it costs $35 to use the Hotel gym?

6. Taxi from the airport should be about $12-$15. A lot of people say tell the driver not to take “the tunnel';

7. It will be hard to get into Prive even if you are staying at the hotel

Thanks in advance, we%26#39;re heading there Thursday!

Go ISU....don%26#39;t forget there is a pregame tailgate thrown by isu alums...

Planet Hollywood - need tips and suggestion

We%26#39;ve stayed there a few times.

1 - Like the casino - great atmosphere and have never had trouble getting drinks

2 - We%26#39;ve never got an upgraded room - we%26#39;ve never asked and the ';old'; rooms are clean and not bad at all

3 - Everyone time you take the elevator up to your room or down to the casino, the timeshare people are there to hit you up - they do take no for an answer but it is really annoying when the same person approaches you 5-10 times within 8 hours. We started telling them ';you%26#39;ve already approached us'; and then they just said sorry and moved on.

4 - Agree - but some of the restaurants are not that good - ex - Blondies, Ocean One and the Mexican one (can%26#39;t remember the name, sorry) food wasn%26#39;t horrible but there are much better places to eat in Vegas

5 - I thought the gym/spa was $25/day

6 - We always rent a car

7 - Sorry, not into clubs in Vegas

Have fun

The Mexican one is that chain all over Vegas. Salsa Cantina or something like that.

I stayed at PH last summer, and when we checked in fairly early, I asked to please be given a Planet Hollywood renovated room, vs. an older Aladdin room. She said the Hollywood Hip rooms are $40 more per night and I said that I didn%26#39;t need anything like that (thought I had seen those as a true upgrade vs. a theme change on the website) so said I just wanted to try out one that fit their new theme. She said, ';Well, I will waive the fee for Hollywood Hip'; and we got it. It was great, great.

I really enjoyed staying there very much. We had a restaurant.com coupon for Ocean One in Miracle Miles shop and enjoyed it as just a normal meal with good service and a good deal on two for one martinis. We liked having that whole mall there, complete with our regular fix of Fat Tuesdays slushie drinks.

In the past, I had never been served while gambling slots in PH, but when I stayed there, we got in a groove and got served on as regular a basis as anywhere else.

Everything else you said sound about right.

CY,

I have stayed at PH quite a few times, most recently in June. I really like the vibe here, great music, and intimate casino.

1. For drinks, hit and miss. I found if you are in the right section, it can be really good. In the morning near Starbucks, it was great. Late evening, not so much. If you happen to get one of the experienced CW and tip a couple of bucks, it will be good.

2. They are tighter with upgrading. We were able to get upgraded to the renovated rooms no problem last year, before they were labeled %26#39;Hollywood Hip%26#39; at a $40 upgrade. You will have a better chance at a free upgrade to an unrenovated stripview or resort room.

3. They are aggressively marketing the timeshares, and they target couples. Just say you are leaving today, and ignore.

4. There are 2 ABC in the Miracle Mile and it is not the cheapest for liquor, but a ok option for convenience. We always head to the Orleans for the good prices for liquor.

The Earl of Sandwich in the casino is great for the breakfast sandwiches and cheap. The buffet at PH (Spice Market) is highly rated and worth the money. Look for discount coupons when you check in.

In the mall, you can get a restaurant.com coupon for good deals at Tacone%26#39;s (fast food but quality and tasty).

5. There is a daily pass you can buy for the spa and gym (last time I bought was $25). Nice spa.

6. Yes, %26#39;no tunnel%26#39; and should be in the $15 range.

all good, helpful tips - keep them coming! Anything I%26#39;m missing?

We enjoy an inexpensive breakfast at La Salsa Cantina, $399 for their breakfast special and it is really yummy. I prefer it to Oceans One. I agree - avoid Blondies. It%26#39;s beyon horrible. We like Planet Dalies for late night (2 am) feedings.

ABC Stores are great for cheap water and snacks.

Don%26#39;t stress out about the timeshare folks. They are a bit annoying but you can just ignore them and keep going.

Don%26#39;t forget about the daily free slot pull and slot tournaments - silly and you probably won%26#39;t win - but we have walked away with quite a few free keychains. Makes for good cheap souvenirs.

I presonally love Planet Ho and am bummed the prices have gone up since the renovation. It makes perfect sense, but it also means we stay there less.

We just returned from PH 10 days ago

1. drinks..no problem except for one time when the CW disappeared .WHEN ANOTHER PATRON COMPLAINED TO a floor supervisor the situation was quickly taken cared of and we were served doubles for as long as we wanted.

3.Timeshare people NEVER bothered us.they were not rude or annoyingly persistant.

6.$12-15 is correct and there was no need to mention ';no tunnel';.

5. try the breakfast buffet at the Desert Passage as it is a great deal if you are hungry and order juice etc.No need for lunch.

Just returned from PH, we had a great stay, just a couple of things to add -

The timeshare people dish out magazines which contain a coupon with 20% discount for Planet Dailies restaurant, be polite and have a magazine off them every day but make your excuses to leave.

The Playing field lounge were serving 1/2 price drinks during big games.

My wife and I were not impressed with the Buffet although it receives good reviews, we very often found the food to be cold.

We asked for a renovated room on a high floor with good views of the strip and we were given what we asked for, $20 did help.

I drank mostly bottles of Bud%26#39; around the hotel, $6 a bottle.

Have a good time.

laurasue...$399 for breakfast? hope you missed out a full stop somewhere in that figure!!
