Day One, Thurs 9/11: My sister(DS), Friend B (FB) and Friend E(FE) flew out of FFW on American. Take off was on time and actually landed almost 30 minutes early.
Prior to boarding @ DFW, a plane load of soldiers came in from Iraq. We could see them walking through the overhead walkway. Most of the people aroung us were standing and clapping for the soldiers. It was quite a moving sight and did indead bring tears to my eyes! (I was amazed at those who just sat and did not even bother to acknowledge the soldiers presence! I wanted to tell them to get up off their a##es and show some gratitude!)
Day One will be continued as a reply.
60th Birthday Celebration
Day One continued.
Our flight was uneventful except for the beautiful view of the Grand Canyon. This was the longest viewing of the Grand Canyon that I have ever had on any flight to LV. Simply Amazing!
I had arranged for airport pick-up through Presidential Limo as a surprise for ';The Girls';. Since we arrived early, the driver was not there yet. Bummer---so much for the great surprise! When the driver arrived, we got loaded up in the limo, got our roses, cracked the champagne, took pictures and off we went. The driver offered to drive us around for a little while but, the machines were calling loudly and so we declined his offer.
DS and I were staying at the Flamingo. FB and FE were staying at Bill%26#39;s. The ride was short and we HAD to empty the bottle before we arrived. We had a 9:30 am flight out of DFW and none of us had had breakfast. None of us really are heavy drinkers so, when we arrived at our destinations, four very tipsy ladies(?) climbed out of the limo.
I felt the money for the limo was well spent and a nice begining for our trip.
We were at the Flamingo by 11:30. We could have checked in immediately and had a pool view room or we could wait until about 4pm for a strip view. There was no hesitation on our part---we would wait for the strip view. I did not try the $20 trick but, I did tip $20 for the free upgrade to a strip view.
The four of us met at Margaritaville----had to try the Volcano Nachos! OMG---huge!!! The four of us couldn%26#39;t eat them all.
Next stop: Bellagio. We all chipped in to help the B pay its expenses lol. We did have our peach bellinis (sorry about the spelling) and thought they were delicious.
We went back to the Flamingo at 3pm and were able to get our room. The room was on the 25th floor facing Caesars Palace. WOW what a lovely view! We were in the typical unrenovated room, clean but worn which was ok to us.
After a little rest (I am OLD you know so had to rest awhile), we went over to check out our friends room at Bills. They had a partial Fountain View room which was very nice.
FB had brought a birthday present for me. She had gotten me a Las Vegas theme Walking Cane!! Everybody but me thought this was very funny! LOL.
We spent the evening gambling at Bills and Flamingo. Again, no wins for anybody.
For dinner, we ate at The Victorian room at Bills. DS and I had their Prime Rib Special which was very good.
This wraps up Day One. I am tired of typing so will post more later.
60th Birthday Celebration
Sounds like you are having a fun trip so far!
Day Two:
Breakfast at Oceans One in Miracle Mile. The food was good as well as the service. Breakfast prices were reasonable and we used our Restaurant.com certificate with no difficulty.
We played at Flamingo and Bills and esentially stayed even. We walked up to Venetian to get our Players cards and collect our $15 in Free Play. DS sat down at a penny machine with her free play and on her first 20 cent bet won $220! We walked on to Wynn where FB had 3 hits on 2cent machines of over $100 each. We collected the two free buffets that FB had earned on her last Vegas trip and had a lovely dinner.
Day Three:
We each bought a 24 hour monorail pass. We rode to MGM and played there awhile and came out about even. We didn%26#39;t get to see the lions. We then went to the Trop to pick up our free tickets to Follies Bergere for that night. We walked over to NYNY and played awhile. Later, we hopped back on the monorail and went to LV Hilton. FB and I walked out from Hilton up $100.It was kind of sad seeing Quarks all dark and closed.
That evening we rode the monorail back to MGM and then on to the Trop. We all really enjoyed the Follies Bergere! We all left the trop up a little bit from our gambling there.
We walked up the Strip where the porn slappers were out in full force! We stopped and all made a donation to Planet Hollywood.
Our room faced Caesars and Pure was directly in front. The music was so loud that we could hear (loudly!) the base notes from the music at the club.
Day Four:
We played at Planet Hollywood again and left another donation. We then went to Paris and did better there. The Paris casino is so pretty! We then walked up to Harrah%26#39;s and did ok there.
We went to Ellis Island for dinner and were really impressed with the $6.99 steak dinner! After dinner we got a taxi to Wynn where we enjoyed our Chocolate Martinies. Unfortunately we did not enjoy any decent wins--lol.
Day Five:
We stocked up on Ethel M%26#39;s candy, packed our bags and headed for the airport. We sadly boarded the plane saying Good Bye until next time!
Viva Las Vegas!
Sounds like a fun time for you ladies! Slotto
