car hire las vegas

Hi

I would be grateful for some adivce on car hire in Las Vegas. We have decided to book before we depart Uk with Dollar Car Hire. However, the hotel we are staying at does not have a Dollar office so we were thinking of collecting the car from the Dollar car hire office at the Bellagio Hotel. We intend staying at Bills Gamblin Hall Hotel. How difficult will it be to get from our Hotel to car hire office at Bellagio Hotel with our luggage. Presumably a taxi ride would be the most appropriate option? Or would you recommend collection from another Hotel?

Regards

If you are using the car the whole trip, you take the shuttle to the car rental outlet. If you only want it for a day, I don%26#39;t know.

I%26#39;ll bump the post for you.

It is easier to rent a car from the airport. If that does not work for you I think the Bellagio is the closest hotel that has a dollar desk. The Bellagio is diagnally across the street from Bill%26#39;s. How you get there will depend on how much luggage you have. With a lot of luggage you may need a cab to leave you off right at the lobby. If you don%26#39;t have a lot of luggage you can walk there. From Bill%26#39;s you will have to use a pedestrian crossover (it goes OVER the street and it has elevators as well as escalators)to get across Flamingo Road and another that will take you directly into the Bellagio. Go to the lobby. Go out the door on your left, turn right, go straight ahead and turn left. Follow the signs and you will be fine.

Just be aware of the fact that the dollar office is not open 24 hours a day and they are closed (usually at noon) for an hour for lunch.

Since you are from the UK use http://www.dollar.co.uk/ rather than the US dollar site because of insurance issues.

Never stayed at Bill%26#39;s but I assume they have a bell desk / luggage store facilities?

You could walk over to the Bellagio to collect the car, then drive back over to Bill%26#39;s to collect the luggage. If that%26#39;s not to your liking then maybe consider picking up somewhere else. No idea where you%26#39;re heading once you%26#39;ve got the car, but if you picked up from the Sahara, it%26#39;s an easy exit to the interstate. The Sahara is (relatively) small so you wouldn%26#39;t have miles to walk at the hotel. You%26#39;d need to take a cab from Bills.

I agree with LoveCo50 - get the shuttle bus from the airport to the car hire centre (if you%26#39;ve booked it for all of your trip).

When you come out of the terminal, turn left, go around the corner and head for the bus stop by the road. The buses are frequent and it only takes 10 minutes to get to the rental centre.

I guess you%26#39;ve alreay booked direct with Dollar, but for others - I%26#39;ve always found booking through netflights.com to be the cheapest way of doing it.

If you book through netflights the car rental will be placed with Dollar anyway and if you select the ';Platinum pack'; you get a free tank of petrol + can add other drivers at no extra charge.

The tank of petrol option is useful, when you drop it back you don%26#39;t need to hunt around for a petrol station to fill up, and if you%26#39;re only going for 4 or 5 days you%26#39;re unlikely to need to fill up at all.

To be honest we usually book through ebookers - this way the insurance with no excess is included. This also is usually the best deal - we are paying £75 for a week in November.
