We returned from Vegas yesterday and the jet lag has hit me big time. Our stay in the MGM was brilliant. Our check in was fast no queues and we were in our room within 10 mins of arrival. We stayed in the grand tower queen deluxe room.Oh the beds, wow so comfy and clean. The room was spotless with all we needed in it.We got a fridge in our room free as i said i need it for my medication(little white lie). The bathroom was spotless and the shower was brilliant.Could not fault the room or house keeping.
We joined the players club and hit the slots and i had one win of 300 dollars, all other wins for me were small and not really worth mentioning. My friend was luckier and won 3000 dollars on a dollar slot. She did not realise she was betting so much and nearly fainted when she saw what she won.Fair play to her she handed me 1000 dollars so i was delighted. The rest of the slots were fairly tight so we just played 1c machines for the rest of the holiday.
We ate in the rainforest cafe and i can honestly say the steak is well worth buying. It was so tasty and melted in my mouth. We also ate in the buffet which we found to be just ok.The food was never very hot but there was a very good variety it just was not that nice.We also ate a lot of take aways and we found those to be fine.
The swimming pools were beautiful and the lazy river was open all the time.It was lovely to float along and relax. The outdoor Jaccuzis were sooooooo warm and i really enjoyed them but my friend found them too hot.The pool area was spotless and very well maintained and no shortage of beds or towels.Im going to miss those pools so much.
Overall i would give the Mgm 10/10 for value, cleanliness, and the staff were brilliant. They were really really helpful and helped us in any way they could. The only thing i would say is that we were not informed at the desk at the players club about comps and how to use them. Therefore we had loads of comps for meals and shows that we did not get to use and we were annoyed over that.We could have saved a lot of money dining but we were not aware of this until 3 days before we booked out.We used the express service for booking out and it was great as we had no hassle and were able to go straight out and get a cab to the airport. The bellboy was up in our room to collect our luggage within 5 mins of phoning him and we did not have to lift our luggage until we got out at the airport.
Im going to report more later as my eyes are closing and i have the flu(caught it on the flight home yesterday).I apologise if my report is a bit all over the place but hopefully ye will understand that i am wrecked and trying to type and keep eyes open at the same time.
Home from Vegas(trip report )Sorry you are sick! Very nice report! We also loved the Rainforest Cafe. Where else did you eat?
Did you try NobHill or L%26#39;Atelier? How about Fiamma (sp?). We%26#39;re looking for a place to eat before our ';Chicago'; concert on Oct 1st.
Home from Vegas(trip report )hi hope ur feeling better im going to mgm grand tower rooms on the 28th of sept so wont be long now its our first time to vegas any tips i liked the one about the fridge ill try that what was your room number and did you have a strip veiw.did you fly from manchester and what and how do i get comps please
Enjoying your tr so far, hope you feel better soon.
';how do i get comps please';
Sign up for a players card and ensure all your gambling is registered on it. Charge anything you can to your room rather than paying by other means. Before checking out go to the players card desk and ask if any part of your stay can be comped.
Most importantly, NEVER play with comps in mind. Gamble what you can afford to lose, don%26#39;t expect any comps whatsoever and look upon any you may get as a big bonus.
coreyireland, glad you enjoyed your trip and had some luck with the gambling. Hope you%26#39;re feeling better soon ..... :-)
why lie?
it is amazing to me the low level of personal behavior will stoop to. if you want a refrigerator you ask if any are available, if they are and there is a nominal fee, you pay for it. no need to lie and degrade yourself.
we had time this morning and were going to read some longer threads - we stopped when we got the lie part.
Bridgefan, this is the second time you have replied to one of my posts here and attacked me.I dont know why but i would appreciate if you dont do this again. We said we needed it for medications(the fridge) as we got a tip here on Trip Advisor that we would get it free if we did this and it worked out for us that way.We were delighted to get this free as we were staying for 10 days and saved ourselves money that we spent on entertainment.I dont think we degraded ourselves doing this.

Corey, don%26#39;t worry yourself too much about Bridgey. Great knowledge of Vegas and full of common sense, useful tips and information but can sometimes be a little rude when it%26#39;s not called for!
Lots of people do what you did (as you said it was suggested to you on here) and if you were happy doing it then so be it. As somebody once said it%26#39;s purely a case of personal chocie........ :-)
corey - don%26#39;t worry about bridgefan - he/she always has something snide to say to EVERYONE - obviously not a very happy person or else would offer constructive advice instead of putdowns. I too have seen the tip here about asking for a frige for meds - if they are available fine, if not the you wouldn%26#39;t get one, but why pay for it if you don%26#39;t have to when actually the rooms should have one in them for customer convenience anyway. I am glad you had a good trip and hope you feel up to completing your TR soon.
if you can%26#39;t stand the heat....
the ';lie for a refrigerator'; topic is discussed here often. I am not the only person who feels it%26#39;s wrong. The thread below is just of many.
No matter how many on TA suggest something, does that make it right?
If your morals are so low lying for refriggertor is worth it to you, do as you did and lie. If you post about it in public, on an internet forum, don%26#39;t be surprised if some thing it%26#39;s wrong.

bridgefan - normally I wouldn%26#39;t reply to people who voice an opinion about someone else%26#39;s post, but you seem to have something to say about most everyone and tend to rub people the wrong way! If that comment about ';the big lie'; had come from anyone else I would have ignored it.
