I have never had a host before so I am a real virgin on this subject. I am a loyal Harrah%26#39;s player and have 5 nights comped at Caesars in 2 weeks. Should I ask for a host as soon as I arrive? Do I need a different host for each of the Harrah%26#39;s properties? Does it seem familiar to others that as soon as I booked at Caesars that I received a ton of other offers from Paris and Balley%26#39;s to receive $100.00 travel expenses and 3 free nights. I do not want to switch hotels so is it possible to ask a host to give me something for not switching? I also got and offer for 2 free tickets to The Red Piano BUT it is for a couple of weeks after I get back. Any suggestions on what to ask a host for while I am there would be a help. Do I ask for line passes or free food or shows?? Thanx for any input.Can%26#39;t wait to get there Oct.5th.
Question about hostsI would guess that if you are a loyal Harrah%26#39;s player and you have 5 nights comped at Caesars then you are probably a diamond player. If this is so you can check in at the Diamond desk and when you do ask to speak to a host then. I always say ask a host for whatever you want the only thing they can say is no.
Question about hostsyou have a HET question - which handles hosts differently than some other player%26#39;s clubs.
within the HET system if you warrant a host they let you know. it never hurts to ask, just be aware that with the system they employ the host has very little discretionary room above what the computer shows you.
ask for whatever you want, if they can accommodate you they will, if not ask them what you do qualify for.
I am far from a Diamond member. I average about $300.00 a day out of pocket on the slots. I guess they just like me. Obviously I put back a lot of what I win so I guess it really adds up. I am still just a lowly gold member.
I forgot to mention. I never act on the post card offers that are sent to me. I go directly to the HET website and sign into my rewards site. I then check all properties for desired dates and the calendar shows me what free rooms I get at each hotel. I discovered that Caesars was offering me as many nights that I wanted. Here%26#39;s a good one. I have never played or stayed at Caesars in the past.
Hey KittKitty!
Jack %26amp; Bridge gave You some very good information and advice. I definitely agree with what they said.
Here%26#39;s how it worked with Me. I played at Caesars in March 2008. In June, I received an Introduction Letter from a Caesars Host. which in part says:
You%26#39;ve reached a level that few of our players achieve and have qualified for the services of your own Executive Host. I%26#39;m writing You today to introduce myself and let you know that I%26#39;m here for You, dedicating my personal attention to making your next visit as enjoyable as possible. In fact, I can assist You at any of our sister resorts in Vegas: Paris Las Vegas, Rio, Bally%26#39;s, Flamingo, Harrah%26#39;s Las Vegas, and Imperial Palace. Let me help You reserve any mail offers that grab your attention.
(So I guess one LV Host at any given property, can be Your host at all the rest of the Vegas Properties)
Note also, ';help to book any mail offers';.
To keep it brief, it mentions various entertainment, and dining options at all the Properties and says he would be happy to assist me with any of these arrangements. (In other words, I can use him as my personal concierge.) He isn%26#39;t offering to comp me-- only to set up dining or entertainment reservations.
I have heard that any meals, shows, dining in room service, etc will come out of your Total Rewards Credit balance first, and if You have 0 left, depending upon your play, a Host may be able to pick up the rest.
I%26#39;ve been a Diamond Player for a few years now, and have always booked all/any of my offers that are posted at the Harrah%26#39;s web site under my account. The majority of time You will see your offers online, long before the physical mailer arrives at the mailbox. (for anybody else that isnt use to the HET system, or a newbie)
My short experience with Host/Hosts is this.
I have an offer for October that comes with rooms and travel reimbursement cash. When I phoned in, the Host on duty asked if I wanted any additional nights other than what the offer stated. That was nice!
My next experience was not so good. I phoned my Assigned Host, gave him the Offer Code that was specific to Rooms and quite a bit of Cash for a stay in November. Again, I saw the Offer on the web site.
After a few days, still no Caesars reservation booked. :( So, I went ahead and booked it myself, and dropped him a line with the Confirmation code that I now had my dates on the cash offer booked at Caesars.
I got an email back from him saying he booked, no confirmation number given however, didn%26#39;t appear on the web site either, and had not received the email he promised that he would send after booking my reservation with a confirmation code. Huh?
Following my email to him, he replied, and he asked, how about giving me that offer code that comes with Cash!!!!
I had given him that very Offer Code for him to do the booking, and I guess he zoned?
So, I am glad I went ahead and took care of it myself, as I was entitled to more than just rooms, and if he had done the reservation, I guess it would not have been booked under the Travel Reimbursement Code. Do I sound like a happy camper? LOL
To wrap this up, in my experience, I believe a Host can add on more nights than what an Offer states. I do know You cannot book double offers back to back. If they%26#39;ve offered you cash with rooms, and You see concert tickets on another offer, I don%26#39;t believe You can have both, except if there is at least 48 hours between bookings/reservations.
As far as show reservations, dinner, etc, I would just rather take care of things myself at that end. You can always charge back everything to your room and at the end of your stay, phone a Host on duty and see if they can take care of those incidental charges and other expenditures.
That%26#39;s my advice, but again, its limited. Maybe others here will chime in and mention how going through a Host got them much better perks than what a mailer or an offer online stated. Or maybe they have a much better Host than I do? LOL
For now, I really like the direct offers I%26#39;ve received, and will continue booking myself to avoid any screw ups. ;) I dont mind doing things for myself, (been doing it for years before I recently received the Host Letter). I feel its a very easy system to book directly online and then print it all out for verification at check in.
My 2 cents, for what its worth.
Thanks for all that great information. I guess I really should be satisfied with the 5 free nights in the new Forum Tower. I will try a host and who knows eh? Being a lowly Gold card holder I see by others that they get nothing. When I booked directly with the hotel they asked me what the purpose of my trip was and I just laughed and said '; GAMBLING OF COURSE'; Maybe that got me 5 nights instead of maybe 2 or 3. I always am very upbeat and cheerful whenever i speak to the hotel employees. Sucking up never hurt anyone eh??LOL
I am very curious as to how, notoriously pennypinching HET, could have true host service for all the $300 / day players. Slots included. That%26#39;s an awful lot of hosts. Online yes, host?
underpar: ';I am very curious as to how, notoriously pennypinching HET, could have true host service for all the $300 / day players. Slots included. That%26#39;s an awful lot of hosts. Online yes, host?';
Just for clarification, I believe Kitty was stating how much $$$ she bankrolled a day, and was commenting that she received a suprising 5 nights at Caesars. She was also asking how one goes about getting a host or being assigned to a host, or using a host.
My post was advising her that I received a letter. I didnt say anywhere in my text that I bankrolled $300 a day to get an assigned host.
Hey carolinaSunny I guess underpar wasn%26#39;t comprehending your post. I totally understood what you were saying. Being a diamond member it is only right that you should hear from a host. Again I thank you for all your great information. Hope you get back to Vegas soon. I will say hello to all of your deposits and hope i don%26#39;t leave mine for someone else.LOL
Hey Kitt!
Actually, after a few years of being Diamond, this is the first Year that a Vegas Host letter arrived! (I do Vegas typically 2 x a year, sometimes 3, and have gone only 1 x a year.) I dont think it has to do with being a Diamond at all, I think if they see action at any tier level, or decide they want to add more fuel to lure you back, its all in the marketing scenario.
To tell You the truth, it doesnt mean much to me. Like anyone else (who chooses) at the end of their stay, I will just phone the Host on duty (and You should too), and see if your action warrants any comps off your hotel charges. So, do the Shows, and the Dining You want, because in the end, it never hurts to ask! Hopefully, we all get LUCKY!
And, I too believe being upbeat and friendly and charming when You call in to the Reservations Folks, goes a long ways. They can add little notes to that reservation what a Sweetheart you were, and to treat you right at check in! ;)
Actually, Youre going to be there before me (my trip begins October 22), if You dont leave it there, do leave some for me?
I do as you do, I win, and I recycle my winnings most of the time anyway. But, playing on their money is always so much sweeter.
GOOD LUCK!
