Hello
I will be in Vegas Nov22-25 with my Aunt and Mom. If we opted to do a buffet-which ones do you suggest. If we wanted to do dinner in a restauraunt, again, what are you recommendations? I%26#39;d like to do a few nice restauraunts instead
of all buffets. We are staying at Bally%26#39;s.
Thanks for your help.
Suggestions for Thanksgiving dinner?
Based on reviews of this board I tried Le Village at Paris for a breakfast buffet. The atmosphere was really cute, French village but I didn%26#39;t like waiting in line 60 minutes to eat and I didn%26#39;t think the food was *that* good. I mean it was hot and fresh but some of the combinations were more fancy than I prefer.
I LOVED the Luxor%26#39;s lunch buffet. They had Asian, Mexican, Italian but all done in an ';American'; way -- hey, I%26#39;m plain. But it was hot, fresh, and well presented with a nice variety. The atmosphere wasn%26#39;t quite as nice but they did have several smaller dining areas so I didn%26#39;t feel like I was in a big cafeteria.
My favorite meal was at the Luxor Steakhouse. I had the best crab legs %26amp; filet ever! Just delicious and the server was very attentive and gracious.
Since you are there on Thanksgiving I would definitely make reservations for that night at a nice sit down place -- nothing would make me less ';thankful'; than waiting with the herd in a buffet line.
Suggestions for Thanksgiving dinner?
Thanks JC-I rather do dinner on Thanksgiving in restauraunt-will keep the Luxor in mind
I would agree that you should plan on making a reservation
for dinner. We were out there six years ago on Thansgiving
and the lines for the Buffets were huge! We wished we had reservations.
EAG, there are no reservations for buffets, first come first served, or you get a line pass if you are a guest or invited.
IT really doesn%26#39;t make difference which buffet you go to, they all serve about the same items on T-Day. The main difference is how much are you willing to pay. Rates will be from $12 to $36. Just stick with any of the 6 or 7 popular ones frequently talked about.
IMO when I do a T-Day buffet I go to Orleans for $12. You can go to Bellagio for $36. We will both have turkey, ham, and roast.
Ok-so reservations are a must for Thanksgiving-so what restauraunt do you suggest? We want a nice dinner-not a buffet.
Thanks again for all your help :-)
Light - My boyfriend and I had T%26#39;giving Dinner at Commander%26#39;s Palace last year. We did not have reservations, just gave our name to the host and came back in about an hour, no problems at all. We didn%26#39;t dress up because we didn%26#39;t know we were going there, but did not feel out of place. The food was excellent. They did have traditional T%26#39;giving food on the menu, too, if that%26#39;s what you%26#39;ll be looking for.
Light, LV is dead on T-Day. Only the buffets are packed mostly from locals, cheaper to eat out, restaurants are slow, so reservations are not really needed.
FWIW the traditional stuff like turkey, ham, smashed tators, dressing, etc is not made to order at restaurants. Just like a buffet it was made a day or two ahead of time. Enjoy and have a great time.
Vegashomeboy,
I know their are no reservations for buffets. Please let me clarify, I was suggesting they make reservations at a nice restaurant for dinner as the buffet lines are way too long in my experience on Thanksgiving.
Light,
I thought about a couple of restaurant recommendations
today. Nobhil-MGM. Delmonico%26#39;s or Postrio-Venetian.
All fine dining and expensive but, hey it is Thanksgiving.
EAG-thanks for the suggestions. I have been reading all the posts for restaurants in the forum and my list is growing! Now if I can just narrow it down...
We are definatly going to a restaurant on Thanksgiving-will save a buffett or 2 for another night.
Light,
You may enjoy the Eiffel Tower Restaurant or Mon Ami Gabi, both at the Paris (and close to Bally%26#39;s). Delmonico%26#39;s and Valentino%26#39;s at the Venetian are very nice. It all depends on how much you care to spend and how far from Bally%26#39;s you care to hike.
Keep in mind that as long as you, your mom, and your aunt are celebrating Thanksgiving together, it will be just fine; it won%26#39;t matter if you wind up at a buffet, the Rainforest Cafe, the Nine Fine Irishmen pub -- or one of the Bellagio%26#39;s pricey establishments. One of my favorite ';dinners'; was a decadent sundae from Ghiradelli%26#39;s, relished with my husband late in the evening while admiring the Bellagio fountains and listening to Ol%26#39; Blue Eyes...
Bon apetit!
