4 nights at MGM Grand Celeb. Spa Suite or split up the stay?

I am stuck trying to decide on my reservation. I know 100% that I want to stay in the south strip (either NYNY, MGM Grand, or PH) because on my last trip I stayed at the Luxor and loved the party atmosphere between NYNY and MGM Grand. The only bad thing was the quality of the rooms at the Luxor and the walk from Luxor through Excalibur to get anywhere. Because of the monorail access and the atmosphere at MGM Grand I chose that hotel for part of the stay. I went ahead and reserved the Celebrity Spa Suite.

Now I am thinking that I may want to change it to 2 nights at MGM Grand and another 2 nights at either Bellagio or Venetian (probably Venetian). In all honesty I am looking for a place to cut loose for a mid-20%26#39;s couple... and a super ritzy hotel isn%26#39;t as important as a fun/good-time hotel. I was thinking of this because I would like to spend 2 days visiting the south strip and 2 days visiting mid and north strip. My GF has never been to Vegas so I want her to do the tourist thing.

Do you guys think that is a good idea? I%26#39;ve never swapped hotels mid-visit, is it a big hassle in your opinion?

If you are only going to be there 4 days, I would say don%26#39;t switch hotels. The hassle and time lost of switching hotels and waiting to check in, is not worth it. The Celebrity Spa suites are nice. For your age, the MGM is perfect with the close proximity to the monorail to get to other hotels down the strip.

The Bellagio and Venetian do not strike me as high energy party casinos. If that%26#39;s what you are looking for I would stick with the MGM. I like checking out different hotels and often split my stay between 2 hotels. I usually have a rental car, so I have somewhere to keep my luggage between hotels. By most people%26#39;s standards, it is a hassle. If you wanted to do it, I would say do MGM and PH, not Bellagio/Venetian.

You haven%26#39;t really given us a reason to justify going through the hassle of switching hotels. Most people do this either to save money, take advantage of offers, try a different hotel or area, or maybe for a special amenty like a pool or spa. Unless you have a reason I don%26#39;t recommend changing hotels for a 4 night trip.

It sounds like MGM is what you%26#39;re looking for, if you want an option, and the pool doesn%26#39;t matter, you might consider PH.

I agree with the others. Also, a standard room at Bellagio/Venetian is not as nice as a Celebrity Suite at MGM.

With the monorail stop at MGM, there is no reason why you can%26#39;t spend two days exploring the Bellagio and Venetian areas without having to sleep there.

Have you booked your room yet? I received a code from an email for MGM. It offers you $35 credit for your stay and then you get a $300 flight credit to come back (who doesnt want to go back to Vegas???). Go to their website and type in CGT212 in the promo code section. Enjoy your vegas stay!

Thanks to all. I have already booked 3 out of the 4 nights at MGM Grand about 2 months ago in the Celebrity Spa at a really good rate (better than any currently out that I can see). It%26#39;s for Sun-Wed. I was planning on staying downtown Saturday night, but am thinking more and more that it might be worth it just to go the full 4 nights at MGM Grand and then taxi one night downtown if I choose.

Big problem though, the price for Saturday night in a Celebrity Spa suite has recently become pretty outrageous, even with a package deal... leading to my new question.

If I book the Saturday night at the ';No Regrets!'; package (very cheap) in a Standard Room (it doesn%26#39;t allow for a celebrity spa offering)... then you think that they will let me upgrade when I get there for a decent price, seeing that I am staying 3 more nights in a different room? This way I won%26#39;t have to check out and check in to the same hotel on concurrent days?

I know it can be a roll of the dice, and I really won%26#39;t be completely upset if it doesn%26#39;t work, but you think that it%26#39;s possible to find savings doing that?

just got back from 6 days at MGM...the only complaint I had was how hard I tried for an upgrade upon check-in..the whole being pleasant didnt work, the $20.00 trick didnt work..and even asking to speak to manager didnt work.I was told';they dont do that here';..And this was on a sunday through thursday trip. Of course I was told that i could PAY for an upgrade at 45.00 per night extra which I refused....other than that MGM rocked...Casino, Pool, Bar/Clubs were all awesome..proximity to NY/NY was great too...Dont hop around, stay in 1 spot and enjoy...

Just for an update, instead of chancing it I went ahead and just added the Saturday night under my current package. About $50 or so more than the standard room under ';No Regrets!'; package so I think it was a good decision. Now 4 nights Oct 4-8 that are in the books, feels exciting haha.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I don%26#39;t know what deal you got with MGM, but they%26#39;ve been dropping prices on some of their special offers.

I%26#39;ve rebooked 4 times in the last 2 months and keep getting a lower rate.

Booked the same packed a 3 weeks ago for a spa suite at 139.00 a night. Checked the package again yesterday and the spa suite dropped to 119.00 a night.
