can any of you seasoned parrot-heads tell me if camera%26#39;s are allowed for the Buffet concerts. We have caught his show the past two years down in Dallas, and this will be our first at MGM in October.
What is MGM%26#39;s policy?? Where can we get us some good parrot-head wear without having the wife get out her yarn %26amp; needle.
thanks for your help.

Camera @ Buffett Concert in MGM
Pretty much every live performance I have ever been to anywhere says photography prohibited. However, pretty much every live performance I have been to anywhere also usually has tons of flashbulbs going off. They really have more of an issue with video equipment or large photography equipment. Take a handheld digital camera and they probably won%26#39;t care.
As for the parrot-head wear, are you asking if the souvenir%26#39;s are expensive? Well, yes, they usually tend to be pretty pricey at concerts: $20-$30 for a shirt and so on.
Camera @ Buffett Concert in MGM
Get your parrot-head wear at Margaritaville of course! It is at the Flamingo casino and had a decent sized gift shop.
I would check with MGM to see what their policy is. The ';no camera rule'; seems to be more relaxed these days. I was surprised to see, at a venue here in MA, that their rules specifically stated that cameras WERE allowed. It did specify that no professional cameras w/ removeable lenses were allowed.
I saw Buffett just 2 weeks ago and it was great as always!
Be sure to look for the pre-party. They usually have one at Margaritaville where they close down the street.
You definitely can get stuff at the Margaritaville shop. If you don%26#39;t have much luck there are some party stores nearby that you can take a cab to. They usually have a lot of stuff, we get stuff at iParty here every year before the show.
thanks for the input...We are staying at the Flamingo the week we are in town. We book a Go Room %26amp; are excited about leaving the 1 yr. old at home %26amp; enjoying some adult time in vegas. Thanks again for your help.

I don%26#39;t know...
Do you really think it%26#39;s okay to leave a 1 year old at home alone while you go to vegas? I would think a kid should be at least four or five before they can fend for themselves.
do a google search and you can find a few spots that sell some appropriate parrott head concert gear.
Which show are you going to? We are counting the days til the 25th show
Stonej,
Congrats on getting some grown up time! I remember the first time we went to Vegas and left the kids behind......ahhhhhhhhhh......wait what was I talking about?????
Agree with getting some parrothead stuff from the Margaritaville store. You could also go to margaritaville.com and order on-line so that you have it in advance.
Or, make your own!!!! Dollar store grass skirts, get a panama hat.....you get the picture.
I%26#39;m trying to figure out how to make room in my suitcase -- parrothead gear, clothes, parrothead gear, clothes. Ahem.... I%26#39;m not looking forward to the show at all, am I???
Phins up!!!!!
LP
what I have seen lately is no professional phtography equipment so the little digital cameras have been ok, but don%26#39;t try a 10'; lens
I went to a Buffett concert a few weeks ago and chickened out and did not take my camera. I did not get searched but the guy in line beside me got patted down pretty good. You will probably be okay, just usually depends on the person who is checking.
if you%26#39;re going to sneak in a camera, may i suggest my tried and true spot?
i always put the camera inside the waistband of my pants at the front, right behind my belt buckle. they generally don%26#39;t pat you down in that area and if they do, it%26#39;s easy to pass off as your belt. even easier if you wear a zippered sweatshirt for added ';texture'; in that area.
i haven%26#39;t been caught yet, and i%26#39;ve done this over a hundred times.
it%26#39;s as foolproof a spot as i can find on my body. kinda like how i always bring my weed into shows in between my boobs, lol. if you%26#39;re a regular concert goer, you have to know this stuff :P
