How safe is it to leave stuff poolside?

I%26#39;m staying at the Golden Nugget and MGM solo and plan on swimming a couple days. If I leave my stuff (glasses, lotion, sandals, etc.) at my chair while I swim, is it very likely someone will steal it? I%26#39;ve never swam at these pools so I don%26#39;t know how security is, but I%26#39;m super paranoid about that kind of thing.

I am from Los Angeles Co so I am paranoid regarding my things %26amp;*lotion and sandels would be fine but not sure if I would leave expensive shades laying around.

Mgm has lockers that you can rent for a $1.00 or so if you are spending alot of time in the pool might want to get one.

I%26#39;ve never heard of a huge market for used sandals or someone wanting to use a stranger%26#39;s suntan lotion (yuck) but if you%26#39;re concerned just wrap the stuff up in a t-shirt or towel and leave it at the edge of the pool when you go in.

don%26#39;t leave anything of value unattended anywhere except in your room and if its very valuable - in the room safe. otherwise, just roll up your stuff in your t-shirt and under your towels on the chair.

I%26#39;ve never had a problem at MGM. I prefer to find a chair close to and facing the pool/lazy river so I can keep an eye on things. I usually wear my sunglasses in the pool. If you have prescription glasses that you must wear to the pool, store them in a hard case inside your shoes under your chair (and out of the sun). Shoes and sunscreen are safe - keep valuables in the safe in your room.

I have been to VEgas many times, and always spend time by the pools. AS of yet, i have never had any kind of issue.

But.. you should only bring what you have to down by the pool. You only need a little cash since you can charge stuff to the room. And as far as things like glasses, lotion, sandals, i would really consider those valuables. People are not looking to steal your sandals or lotion. And you could always wear your sun- glasses if they are really nice. The only thing you really have to look out for is extra cash. And the easiest thing to do is just leave most of it in your in-room safe.

I fell asleep poolside at the lazy river at the Monte Carlo and someone took my rental tube and was using it in the water. I was not pleased.

I%26#39;ve swum solo at MGM, NYNY, Flamingo and not had problems, and if you make friends with your neighbors they will look out for your stuff usually. People always ask me to watch theirs.

In 25+ years of going to Vegas have never had anything stolen while at the pool. Take only what you need. Stayed at the Flamingo a couple of weeks ago and was amazed that people brought down purses, walets, cell phones, blackberrys. Not me just room key , sun block , shades and maybe a cigar.

Things disappear quickly on the strip. You may not have anything of value in a bag but thieves may grab it hoping there is a few dollars, camera or a watch inside. and if a pool attendant sees something like its lost, it may end up in the lost and found dept.

people will grab players cards in slots just to get a bungee cord.

Don%26#39;t do it!

I learned the hard way in Disney last month.

Everything we had was stolen from a chair at a water park.

Keys - cameras - everything.

Take your towel and lotion.

Charge food and drink to room.

Wear sumglasses in the pool.

The danger of leaving items unattended poolside varies directly with the number of people who visit the pool. Since the pools at Las Vegas resorts are highly trafficked, it is not safe to leave anything valuable on a pool chair. Of course, if you are alone, you can%26#39;t very well take your items into the pool with you. I try to leave anything valuable in my in-room safe. When I swim, I cover my items on my chair with a towel or shirt, and I try to stay in the area of the pool where I can keep an eye on my stuff while I swim.
