The Mandalay Bay Hotel

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Mandalay Bay and if so how was it, will it be equivalent to the Bellagio or not. I do have a choice on which hotel andy suggestions? I am mainly concerned about the rooms, the up keep of the hotel, the service provided.

Also, the restaurants ans shows provided in each hotel.

The Mandalay Bay Hotel

It would probably be easier and more reliable if you actually went to their websites to get all of the restaurant and show info for each hotel.

The Mandalay Bay Hotel

MB isn%26#39;t of the same standard as Bellagio but it%26#39;s a very nice hotel. Comparisons with Bellagio are a little unfair as the two properties are quite different in character. Bellagio attracts an older crowd and attempts (reasonably successfully) to project an aura of class. MB aims at a somewhat younger crowd and has more of a party vibe. Bellagio has a wonderful central location, MB is at the far south of the Strip.

You%26#39;ll have no problems with either hotel in terms of rooms and upkeep. Standards are high at both. I wouldn%26#39;t pick a hotel with shows and/or restaurants too much in mind - you can easily go to these anywhere irrespective of where you%26#39;re staying.

Thank you for your feedback, We are in between ages 38-45 so in your opinion Mandalay Bay would be better for our age group?

We would be celebrating our 10 year weddings anniversary and this woukld be my first time in Vegas just trying to make sure I am on the strip and that I am staying at a very nice hotel.

For a first visit to Vegas I would suggest staying as central as possible and for that reason alone wouldn%26#39;t recommend Mandalay Bay, as nice as it is.

It%26#39;s not easy to suggest hotels without knowing what sort of budget you%26#39;re looking at. Bellagio would be a great choice as would the newer towers (Palace or Augustus) at Caesars Palace.

';Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Mandalay Bay';

To clarify: Do you mean ';THEhotel at Mandalay Bay';, or do you mean Mandalay Bay. They are 2 seperate buildings, and though on the same property very different, especially the rooms.

The Hotel at Mandalay Bay is what I am refferring to sorry, did not know there were two and to answer the budget question I had already booked Bellagio so I am willing to pay to stay there. I love the pictures of the Bellagio.

One of my co-workers went there and I said if I ever Camr to Vegas I would stay at the Bellagio, however me husband thought The Hotel at Mandalay Bay was very nice. So I thought The Hotel at Mandalay Bay was on the strip obviously not close to everything.

Ia m also reading that there are a lot of children taken in by this hotel. I am not trying to stay where there is a lot of Children no offense I have a 17 year and 18 year Girls, I am trying to have a romantic get-a-way with my husband.

Please help!!!!

I have stayed at both and they are both lovely properties. I agree with the previous poster that the Bellagio projects class and caters to the slightly older crowd while Mandalay bay caters to the slightly younger. Honestly I love both these properties. You have great restaurants at both of these properties, gambling is great at both, even though I ussually have more luck at Bellagio. No matter where you stay, the Bellagio fountains is a must see attraction. Deffinetly go see the Aureole restaurant at MB to check out the wine angels. No matter where you are staying, I found it worth it to spend a few bucks more for the strip view. Night view of the fountaint at Bellagio is something you do not forget easily.

To avoid any confusion the name of the property you should use is simply THEhotel. This will suffice. Including the words ';Mandalay Bay'; will only cause confuse people like it did me!!!!!!!

THEhotel is a really classy place, a step up from Mandalay Bay itself. However the same issues about location apply as I covered in my earlier post. I love THEhotel but wouldn%26#39;t suggest it for a first visit to LV.

So, In your opinion the Bellagio would be a better choice? I love the view and since there is a nuch older crowd there I am betting there would be minimum children am I correct?

I thank all of you for responding and helping me consider my options. Although I will be visiting there in Dec I am trying to gather all information ahead a time to inform my travel agent of any changes I would need to make now... Thanks Again!

Travel agent?

You shouldn%26#39;t be booking a Vegas hotel using one of those. Book yourself directly with the property to get the best deal. You%26#39;re planning a trip in December when there%26#39;s some great deals to be had and rates will almost certainly come down a few times between now and then. If you book direct you can just call the hotel and they%26#39;ll honor any new lower rate that applies to your stay. You can%26#39;t do this if you use a travel agent or other third party.
