I am travelling to Vegas in November with my 18 year old daughter and her 21 year old boyfriend. I was thinking about going to see O at Bellagio, Blue Man, Mac King Comedy, Madame Toussad Wax Museum, Circus Circus, Dinner at Stratesphere.
How do these sound? If I had to choose between O and Blue Man, which is better?
Would have loved to visit Grand Cayon via helicopter - but can%26#39;t find anything under $300 pp.
Also, is it worth it to take a trip down to Freemont Street?
O or Blue Man
Wow, lots of questions!
First: O vs. Blue Man Group. I think most people here will say to see O. Personally, Cirque bores the heck out of me. If it was a street performance that I could watch for five minutes and then go about my merry way, I%26#39;d be all for it. But 90 minutes straight is a bit much.
Blue Man Group is like nothing else I%26#39;ve seen. Everyone will agree with that. It%26#39;s just a question as to if they will say it in a good way or a bad way. I think it%26#39;s a totally unique piece of performance art.
My vote would be blue man group.
Freemont street is cool to see, but it depends on how long you%26#39;re there. I like to explore the strip and hit Freemont street if I have time.
As for the Grand Canyon, trips are pricey. Not really for me, I personally think it%26#39;s a lot more impressive from the rim than the air.
Good luck and have a great trip!
O or Blue Man
I haven%26#39;t seen O but have seen Blue Man Group a few years ago. My husband and I took out daughter (then probably 16) and we all loved the show.
We also enjoy going to Fremont Street at night. We like the atmosphere there.
Going back the end of October and can%26#39;t wait! Have a great trip in November!
I have not seen O, but it gets overall very good marks here on the forum. I did see BMG a couple of years ago and did not like it at all. I was completely bored during the entire show. A 21 and 18 year old may very well like it.
As far as Fremont Street, you should only visit it if you are in Vegas for a long length of time. There is so much wow factor on The Strip, I would avoid Fremont, especially, if it%26#39;s your first visit and concentrate of the sites on The Strip.
I will be in Vegas for a week so will schedule Freement for the end of the week if I have time.
So far I am leaning towards Blue Man Group.....
I loved the Blue Man Group, I am in my 20s and I think they would like it. Mac King is another great choice also Madame Tussauds. I would skip Circus Circus and the Strat. Uness they want to go on the rides on top of the Strat. I have never been to that area as I hear it is seedy and it is not close by. I loved the rollercoaster at NYNY at night. I wouldn%26#39;t bother going downtown since it%26#39;s all gambling there and your daughter is only 18. The Fremont experience is nice but I%26#39;d wait till she is 21 to go Downtown.
I saw both BMG and O in August. I really liked both. I would say O is the better show overall, but not by a huge margin. At 18 I probably would have liked BMG more than O, at 35 O wins.
I havent seen BMG but saw O and thought it was very good. The thing with these expressionist type shows is they are very individual. They are very good, but some people just arent down with certain particulars. Having seen O, and liked it I would still lean to BMG for the age group (and I hope they havent been dating for more than a year :)). BMG kind of has that pop culture appeal over the more theatrical/visual impressiveness of O. Just a hunch.
Personally, I liked Mystere better for wow factor and a first cirque show...its likely cheaper than O and BMG and has the standard cirque acrobatics with a nice mix of humor.
You wont go wrong however you choose.
My preference would be ';O'; plus you get to hang out at the Bellagio. Skip Circus Circus. Have eaten at the Stratesphere food was ok , but the view was fantastic. If I remember correctly it takes 2 hours for the resturant to turn a full 360. Very cool view of the entire valley from up there. Freemont street is worth the trip just to see the canopy show , they also have live music on the outside stages.
';Freemont street is worth the trip just to see the canopy show';
I disagree. It is nice but not all that.
Still leaning towards BMG - went to Cirque show in Orlando last year, daughter enjoyed. Her bf hasn%26#39;t travelled much which is why I was thinking about Circus Circus - will also consider the coaster at NYNY.
PS to LoveMD: BF just turned 21 this past weekend, and yes, they have only been dating for just over a year...;-)
