Pookies day 2: Slushy challenge!

Jenn and I woke up around 9ish, we wanted to be at Harrah%26#39;s by 11 am. But in typical Pook and cutie fashion, we lounged about a bit too long, we barely made it to CC at Harrah%26#39;s at 11, only to find........it was not open yet! :(

We played a few penny machines in Harrahs, then tried again. YES! They were open, a nice young man said we could order any kind of mix drink on the rocks for the yard drink, they didn%26#39;t have actual slushies, (this was the small kiosk near the stage area). He offered to make us LIIT%26#39;s, whick I know would have made Low very proud, but I didn%26#39;t feel like dying of alcohol poisoning that day!! He let us sample a nice fuity concoction, which I chose as my selection, Jenn chose the hurricane. Our bar keep started off with plenty of ice, then on came the booze! Holy crap, we both stood there staring at the vast amounts of boose he was putting into our libations! They each cost 35.00 (40.00 with tip), he even gave us a flare show, tossing bottles and catching them behind his back or on other bottles, he was very nice!

We took a few pics, whick I will post when I get back to Denver, of our ';before'; shots, they were very cumbersome to carry, not just the size, but kinda heave as well. I must admit we were getting all kinds of attention fro EVERYONE we passed on the strip. People were taking pics of us passing by and cheering us on. We played some slots and sipped... it was a fierce compitition, I actually kept up with my dear bff until about half way through... heck I even thought I may have stood a chance, then... OUT OF No WHERE.... She took a HUGE lead!! I though maybe if I used both straws I could catch up and gain a lead.... SADLY I must admit... I got my butt kicked, my bff was crowned the yard dring champion!!! YAY!! we joked that we were going to have her yard cup painted gold so she could have a proper trophy! While I did enjoy the slushy, that was entire too much liquid for me to take on!

While we were out we did bump into another TA peson, we met Alaskagambler!! We were in Casino Royal, and bff had a young man walk up to her, and ask.. ';are you Pook?';, she said no but she is and pointed at me. He recognised us only by the yard slushies! We endedb up chatting for a while then decided to go get lunch at Magaritaville, I have never eaten there, I laughed at the Volcano Nachos getting served at nearly every table around us! It was a nice, relaxing atmosphere, with delicious food. I had the Jerk chicken, with veggies and rice... OMG yum! Bff Jenn had the mushroom burger with seasoned steak fries an Alaskagambler had the Margaritaville burger with onion rings.... we all were very happy with our meal!!(Thanks again Brad!!)

We parted ways with Alaskagambler and moved on to the Flaming O, we relaxed and played a few more slots, mostly winning too!! Then we were off to Bills to see Big Elvis.. Wow , just wow, we ere both blown away by his voice!! The crowd was so energetic and you could see people nearly crying during songs. I am so glad we finally got to see him! We them played a lol at Bally%26#39;s winning some and loing some. Eventally we meandered our way back home. We dropped off out cups, freshened up a bit then we were off to see the south strip.

We played at the Trop and MGM, reliving a bit of our June trip, I have nice memories at the MGM, due to Buggy and another young man. We were getting hungry again so we decided to go to Ellis Island! I love their cafe, good food, service and prices! Jenn got the steak special and I opted for a turkey sandwich! Then as we digested we gambled, both of us losing a lilk bit of money, by the end of it we were exhaused!! It was time for bed!!

I have to admit, Jenn won, and not just by a little!! I am very proud of her!! Hee hee, we may do this again in a few months, until, I%26#39;ll still be trying to metabolize all the freakin sugar!

I%26#39;ll try to post tomorrow another day, until then I am going to enjoy one of the happiest places in earth, with my best friend, which is a huge part of why this is such a happy place for me....(Lol I heart bug puffy heart her!)

Awwww Pook, good try though and most importantly you had a good time with bff and met a fellow TA person!

My husband was watching WSOP last night and they showed tables from the first round of one of the events. He could have sworn it was Buggy, said he had a mohawk and resembled him. They didn%26#39;t show it for long. Buggy if you are out there was it you?

I destest the brain freeze as well. I do not drink the frozen concoctions...my bff on the other hand was ko%26#39;d by a slushie downtown a couple of years ago...Her dh had to hold her by the belt loop to get her up to her room.....before she yacked...not a pretty sight....oh Memories! Slotto

were leaving thursday and i wish i could try this slushy thing, problem is i can have 1 beer and i am drunk, i remember last time i had a beer at the casino i could hardly get off the chair, and trying to ride the escalator was a challenge. mabey i will try 2 slushy%26#39;s. what flavor are they?

Thanks, all! I have to say though, that Pook put up one heck of a fight! More importantly, we had an absolute blast, and that was really the point of this whole thing.

For those who have been concerned - Pookie has managed to stay dry for 2 and a half days in Vegas! Further bulletins as events warrant...

Drewsmom - Whatever flavor you want, really. Depending upon where you go, the flavors are plentiful! For the most part, they are fruity things like daiquiris and bellinis, but you can get mudslide, white russian, pina colada, etc...

Wow....glad to see you two survived and a little disappointed that Pook gave up without much of a fight.

And how funny that you meet a TA member and get to have a little surprise Meet and Greet :)

Ducky - Don%26#39;t be disappointed in Pookie!!! She fought like a champ, but I was a woman on a mission. My liver thanks me.

thanks i will have to try a couple, im sure there is a place i can go sit(like a slot machine) if i cant walk. i can sober up people watching. thanks again.
