Just got back after a week at the El C and I enjoyed my last meal at Kitty%26#39;s and my first meal at the ';Cafe Cortez';. Same menu and they have started to close the room off from the casino floor.

The cafe has been relocated to the Chinese buffet side until the renovations are done.

The status of Mr Porterhouse is unknown at this point.

Everyday it seems less Jackie in the El Cortez.

Didn%26#39;t get to go there last trip, but was looking forward to eating there in Dec, I%26#39;ve heard some good things about it. Oh well, progress?????

Well, it was bound to happen now that Jackie isn%26#39;t in charge anymore. What a shame, next it will be Roberta%26#39;s! It%26#39;s too bad new owners can%26#39;t leave the history of a hotel alone.

According to LVA the Chinese buffet is gone too.

Wavy, from what I%26#39;ve heard, nobody will miss the Chinese buffet!

Hope they still have the $3 bj tables.

To tell the truth i never noticed the buffet for years.

Even though Jackie is no longer the owner he still has weight. He still has his round table lunch with all the heads.

Bummer..the Careful Kitty Cafe sure has history and tons of memories. Hopefully the renovations will not change the place too much.

The closing of the buffet is no loss.

I hope the Cortez Cafe keeps Careful Kitty%26#39;s prime rib! Best $7.99 prime rib I%26#39;ve ever eaten! Full dinner too, with salad, potato, veggies, bread... I think even the drink was included!

Roberta%26#39;s looked like it was staying... for now. Still had .25 roulette w $1 min. $3 Craps and BJ at times. Thanks to triple points on Monday I added another 7k points on the card.
