Possibly a silly question but I am asking anyway....

Mom and I are leaving for our second trip to Vegas on Friday. Staying at the Venetian as I rec%26#39;d 3 nts comped and only had to pay for 1 nt. Really excited as our previous stay was at Bally%26#39;s.

So here is my silly question. When checking in do they bring the bags up to your room or do you schlep them yourselves? Silly question I know but I just had to ask. Also, when leaving do you schlep them back down to the lobby or what?

Like I said silly question but I have no idea what is the norm.

TIA.

Hi

When we stayed there it was the same as at all the other hotels, your choice.

Possibly a silly question but I am asking anyway....

It%26#39;s up to you. If you want to bring them yourself you can (many do).

When you arrive, by car or cab, a bellman will offer to take your bags. They will then hold them while you check in. Then when you reach your room you give them a call and they will bring them up.

Your question is not silly. You just want to know what is common. The answer is that either is ok.

I like to have my bags delivered if I have checked them with the bellman before the room is ready. I leave and play the casino or go for a bite and have the bags taken to my room.

If I have only carry-on, which is the way I like to travel, I take them up myself if the room is ready. If the room isn%26#39;t ready I may retrive them from the bellman and take them up or have him take them up.

Either way I give the bellman a tip for taking care of my belongings.

You can schlept them yourself or when you arrive at the hotel, the bell desk people can get your bags for you. Then you go inside and check in. Once in your room you call the bell desk and they will then bring your bags to your room. No charge but you should tip $1 a bag and most people tip at least $5 for this service.

When checking out, either carry your own bags or call the bell desk and they will get them for you, then when you get outside they will get a cab for you and put your bags in the cab. Again, a tip is approrpiate for this service.

As all the other posters have said- it is your call. If you have alot of suitcases you may want someone to bring the luggage to your room and then bring them down when you leave. If you only have one suitcase you just might find you can manage by yourself. Just remember to tip if you do need/want help.

The one time I said at the V I had my bag brought up and they were pretty quick about it.

I am trying to figure out how you got 2 nights at the Venetian comped when you have not stayed there before..... when you stayed at Bally%26#39;s did you play at the Venetian a lot?

Please explain.

Thanks everyone for the posts. Really appreciate your help.

Grayhorse I actually got three nts comped and to be honest I did not play at Venetian all that much. All I really did was sign up for the card and played a bit of slots but nothing major. Many on this board seemed to have a similar offer if they had the card.
