I keep thinking about my annual trip to Vegas in October.
Each time I think about checking out dates, flights and room rates I stop myself.
The economy is so shaky that I finally decided I better save my money instead of taking a trip.
BOO….
Anyone else delaying trip due to economy?
If you have credit card debt and loans other than a mortgage, plus might be worried about employment, then planning a trip to Vegas at any time might need extra thought. However, if you are debt free, don%26#39;t need to sell investments, aren%26#39;t planning to move to a new home, then I don%26#39;t see any reason to not go to Vegas on the annual trip.

Well said and done. Europeans benefit from our situation, but for US this is a time for holding and saving.
UGA_iam, once again I will tell you.......I am NOT a European! I am an American! My money and income are in USD.
Me personally, I just think about job security which has never stopped me in the past. I have been to Vegas twice this year (April and July).
I think I will wait until April.
UGA, it isn%26#39;t true that Europeans are benefitting from your situation in the US. In fact, the UK is heading towards recession.
The knock on effects of the problems in the US money markets have hit us hard. with some property owners finding themselves in negative equity positions. Add the soaring cost of living and the dire performance of the pound against the Euro and the Dollar and we are on rocky ground just like you.
Will I be cancelling my trip? No.
Indeed Karen is right...it%26#39;s just as bad here at the moment..every day brings doom and gloom on the tv and radio and in the press. As has always been said - when the US sneezes - the UK catches a cold.
I side with Gabby ...assess your personal situation and decide based on that. It%26#39;s easy to talk yourself into a downward spiral when all about us is bad news.
I shall still go to Vegas ..whatever !
europeans are NOT gaining, our exchange rate has gone down.
our bills and petrol bills have gone up but we just deal with it and plan our next holiday for 2009.
lifes too short to not go where you want to go.
are us brits getting sick of turning on the news and it syas CREDIT CRUNCH all the time!!!!!!!!
Maybe the website should change to ';Stayathomeadvisor.com';?
Things are tough everywhere...including the UK!! And you really don%26#39;t want to know about the price of fuel over here!
Having said that, i work hard and want to be able to do what i can afford to on my holidays so we%26#39;ll be coming to Vegas at Christmas time.
You just have to cut your cloth accordingly.
this is what is wrong the U.S. and why we are headed towards recession. Everyone talking about saving and delaying gratification is the most un-American thing i have ever heard. True patriotic americans realize that as long as they have ';available credit'; they should continue to spend, spend, spend....see you in VEGAS BABY!!!! (at least until the HELOC and credit cards are maxed)
