Las Vegas Vs. Atlantic City

I have been to Atlantic City many times, and I haven%26#39;t been to Las Vegas in over 20 years. Why is Las Vegas better???

Las Vegas Vs. Atlantic City

there are less new yorkers there. just kidding. I love NYC...maybe just electricity in the air because its vegas, a few more options for adult entertainment, better pool weather certain times of year.

';Why is Las Vegas better???';

Why do you think it%26#39;s better if you haven%26#39;t been there in 20 years? :)

Let me count the ways...

better weather

better bars

more entertainment options

more dining options

you%26#39;re not in slums if you walk 200 feet from a casino. (Most of the time lol)

better drink service for players (no little plastic cups of beer)

More options on places to stay

Better pools

Tony -

I go to Vegas about every 10 months and I go to Atlantic City once a year in July.

The atmosphere in Vegas really trumps that of AC. So many choices for dining and shows and nightlife. To mee, AC is the opposite. Except fot a jaunt down the Boarwalk, I would never go exploring in AC.

On the opposite side of the coin, however, is comps. For me, a slot and VP player, they are much easier to come by in AC. I budget about $3-400 a day for gambling and I neve pay for a room at the Trop in AC and, after about 24 hours of being there, usually quailify for the diamond jims club lounge at the Trop - which is high end drinks and a full meal twice a day.

On that same budget for about 4 straight years in Vegas, I get $59 rooms at MGM and lots of comped meals at NY NY. But nothing to compare to AC.

If given the choice between the two - and assuming I%26#39;m flying non-stop from the east coast - I%26#39;d take Vegas anyday of the week!!!!

I have been to Las Vegas many times and have never gone to Atlantic City....personal choice I guess. Almost every thread on this forum speaks to the reasons why you should go to Vegas.

I hope you find what you are looking for (love your screen name btw....lol).

I new this would fire the board up..keep them coming. I thought the 1st reasons was going to be slushies :0) (even though I never had one).

I live about 45 mintues from Atlantic City and find it is not bad for a few hour trip, but travel to Vegas about 4-5 times a year.

Reason 1: Las Vegas is service-oriented, people want your business and usually try to accomodate you because there is so much competition.

example: Flew home from Las Vegas in July, due to business, had to drive directly to AC, when I went to Harrah%26#39;s to check in (@Diamond Line) I wanted to pay for the room tax and the clerk told me I had to go and wait in another line because he had no cash box?

Reason 2: The shows in Las Vegas are incredible, many choices every night, not just one big concert a week at one casino.

Reason 3: The weather..

Reason 4: Much more to do, sightseeing,

I could go on and on....

Atlantic city isn%26#39;t anywhere near the same as Vegas, so you really can%26#39;t compare, other than they both have gambling. If you%26#39;ve been to the Borgata, which is the only hotel I like in AC, then that is comparable to some hotels in Vegas, IMO. AC is just not the same, not to mention the rates are so insanely high on the weekends in AC, its cheaper to go to Vegas too, including air.

can%26#39;t bet sports:o(

one of my buddies owes me $100 from our last vegas trip, i think an email from Tony Boom Batz might motivate a quicker payment
